Product Overview
Instruments and materials:
1. Sample container: A metal disk with a capacity of 1500mL, a height of about 60mm, and a wall thickness of 0.5mm~1mm, which can also be replaced by a small aluminum pot or porcelain evaporating dish.
2. Balance: Sensitivity not exceeding 1g.
3. Oven: equipped with temperature controller. (Self provided)
4. Electric or gas stove: with asbestos pads.
5. Glass rod.
6. : thermometer, solvent, washing solution, etc.
Method and steps:
1. Wash and dry the sample container, glass rod, etc., and weigh their total mass (m 1).
2. Weigh 300g ± 1g of uniformly stirred emulsified asphalt sample in the sample container, and weigh the total mass (m2) of the container, glass rod and lotion to the nearest 1g.
3. Place the container containing the sample together with the glass rod on the electric furnace or gas furnace (with asbestos pad on the side) for slow heating. The heating temperature shall not cause lotion to spill until it is confirmed that the moisture in the sample has completely evaporated (usually 20min~30min), and then heat it for 1min at 163 ℃ ± 3.0 ℃.
4. Remove the sample container and cool it to room temperature. Weigh the total mass (m3) of the container, glass rod, and asphalt together, accurate to 1g.
