1、 Introduction

1.1 Overview

Thank you for choosing our asphalt mixture rotary compactor. In order for you to use this instrument smoothly, please read this manual carefully to avoid wasting your valuable time and even causing unnecessary losses due to improper operation during installation and use.

As a key equipment for SuperPave asphalt pavement, the accuracy of the rotary compactor plays a crucial role in the construction and application of actual asphalt mixture samples. Studies have shown that the engineering characteristics obtained from rotary compacted asphalt mixture samples are similar to those obtained under the conditions of actual asphalt mixture application. It is a compaction molding equipment that simulates the volume and properties of actual pavement materials, and produces cylindrical specimens of hot mix asphalt mixture through kneading under constant pressure, fixed compaction angle, and fixed compaction speed conditions. The rotary compactor is a device that replaces the Marshall compactor for forming cylindrical specimens. It can not only determine the number of spinning cycles based on traffic volume, but also control the height of the specimen according to design needs, thereby controlling the compaction degree (mainly used for asphalt permeable layer design). Our company's latest developed new rotary compactor uses air pressure as the axial pressure source. Compared with the method of motor screw loading, it can achieve higher axial load accuracy and stability. Due to the compressibility of air pressure, the axial pressure can maintain smaller pressure fluctuations in the actual compaction process.

Compared to similar products in the market, our product also has other advantages. The integrated body design, built-in pressure source (compared to similar products in the market, no external air compressor is required), built-in integrated electric demoulding device (no external demoulding device is required), easy to operate embedded touch display screen installed on the front, touch electric lifting protective door. Compared with other rotary compaction equipment, our product has significantly improved in terms of safety, durability, and ease of use.

In terms of software human-computer interaction, we have integrated the functions of most of the rotary compactors on the market. The interface is simple, friendly, and beautiful, with real-time height curve, real-time angle, height, density display, adjustable time delay automatic demolding, automatic saving and viewing of test data, U export of curve data, and other functions to meet the needs of on-site testing and scientific research.

Design reference standards: JTG E20-2011(T0736-2011),JT/T 724-2008,AASHTO T312, AASHTO TP71-2007,ASTM D6925。

1.2 Technical Parameters

Compaction specimen size: φ 100/φ 150 mm; (The 100mm specimen kit is optional)

Preparation of specimen height: 50-200mm (when preparing specimens with a height greater than 150mm, a 300mm height test mold needs to be selected)

Trial mold size: Standard configuration includes a diameter of 150 mm (a diameter of 100mm trial mold is optional), and a height of 250 mm can be selected with a height of 300mm trial mold (a 300mm height trial mold is a non calibrated part)

Rotation angle: adjustable from 0.5 to 2.0 degrees. (Factory default internal angle 1.16 °)

Rotation cycle times: adjustable from 1 to 999

Rotating working speed: adjustable from 5 to 40 r/min. (Factory default: 30 ± 0.5r/min)

Axial compaction pressure: 600KPa (factory setting) ± 10KPa

Adjustable from 200mm to 700kpa (when using built-in air source)

φ 100 mm: adjustable from 200 to 1500 kPa (when using the built-in air source)

When replacing the external air compressor (10Bar), the maximum adjustable pressure of the φ 150 mm specimen can reach 900KPa. By default, the axial pressure of the φ 150 mm specimen is set to 600KPa

Power supply: AC380V * 3+N ± 10%/50HZ, peak power: 1.6KW

Overall dimensions: 1100 × 800 × 2120 (height), net weight: 470Kg

1.3 Functional Features

Simultaneously compatible with the preparation of specimens with diameters of 100 and 150 mm (the specimen kit with diameter of 100 is an optional accessory).

Axial pressure pneumatic constant pressure, using imported high-precision constant pressure valve, with small axial pressure fluctuations during the test process.

The body integrates a silent air pump and air storage tank, without the need for an external air compressor.

The body integrates an electric demoulding device with built-in programmable delay automatic demoulding function.

The electric protective door that can be operated by touch can automatically open and close according to the instrument status under the control of the safety program during automatic compaction. The unique advanced user mode allows for the shutdown of system security programs, enabling testing with the protective door open.

Hidden built-in LED lighting system.

Adopting imported PLC and 10.1-inch configuration touch screen, it has speed closed-loop control, real-time curve display of angle, height, number of turns, density and other information. The specimen forming method can choose height control and circle control compaction mode.

Multiple sets of compaction curve process data and compaction parameters can be recorded, viewed, and exported as EXCEL files via U.

Provide a random calibration kit box (including height and axial load calibration tools) (optional accessories)

The optional accessories are not included in the instrument configuration list, and users need to order them separately.
